If you’re looking for a cool short trail near Pacific Palisades, California, this 4.0-mile loop known as the Temescal Canyon Trail is a fun peaceful one. You encounter amazing ocean and canyon views of Malibu, Santa Monica, and Downtown. There’s ample shade and beautiful wildlife and abundant greenery to admire. It’s known as a moderately challenging route, and it takes about 2 hours and 7 minutes to finish if you’re walking or hiking.
This is a very well-known area for running if you want to speed up your cardio as well. So you’ll probably see a few other people joining you along on your new adventure. What I love about this trail is the fabulous workout that I get while wearing my Hoka shoes. There are some hills during my journey where my calf muscles get a really good burn.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the full trail (only at the bottom of the canyon). You can’t bike, smoke, or have campfires either. Bummer. So I would advise you to leave your furry friends and two-wheelers back at home for this one.
Bring your partner, friends, and loved ones on this wonderful outing. Have a party, wedding, or picnic on a nice sunny day and remember to stay hydrated. You will surely appreciate the beautiful scenery. Oh, and there’s a bridge too. See below.
Parking at the entrance is $12, but you can park across the street which is FREE! The walk up to the trail is not far at all.
This place is open all season long!
