Founded in 1994 by publishing magnate Robert E. Petersen and his wife Margie Petersen, this venue is housed in a former department store building on Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile district of Los Angeles. In 2015, the museum underwent a major renovation and redesign, which included the addition of a new exterior façade and interior layout.
Dedicated to the exploration and presentation of the automobile, the Peterson Automotive Museum is known for its impact on American life and culture focusing on automotive history, design, technology, and racing.
